Aims & scope

Impresa Progetto – Electronic Journal of Management is a peer-reviewed scientific online journal, publishing two regular issues per year, as well as occasional special issues devoted to specific themes. Founded in 2004 by Lorenzo Caselli, the journal has been accredited by AIDEA – Italian Academy of Business Administration and Management since 2010.

In an era of extraordinary economic, technological, and geopolitical change, the Journal’s scientific mission is reflected in its commitment to identifying and interpreting the evolutionary dynamics affecting business organizations, viewing them through the lens of the common good, value creation—not only in economic terms—and the preservation of human values, social responsibility, and ethics. This perspective goes beyond the logic of hierarchy, the closed-system paradigm, and the pursuit of profit as an end in itself.

We view the firm as a community in which, beyond the anthropological paradigm of homo oeconomicus, people achieve self-fulfilment through the richness of relationships and the development of knowledge. At the same time, the firm is understood as a social actor that operates in pursuit of the common good through a purpose that expresses its “reason for being” by combining economic viability and ethics. Profit remains among the objectives of the firm; however, the traditional conditions of economic viability, competitiveness, durability, and autonomy must be complemented by the capacity to contribute to sustainable and inclusive development, while avoiding economic, social, and environmental diseconomies.

We believe that the study of the firm should foster dialogue and cross-fertilisation among the different strands of business and management studies, as well as encourage the development of interdisciplinary synergies, thereby contributing to the fruitful evolution of our disciplines. Today, the hybridisation of knowledge is essential to interpreting the complexity of the phenomena we observe.

In pursuing these objectives, Impresa Progetto – Electronic Journal of Management aims to disseminate within the scientific community the results of research conducted by Italian and international scholars in business and management disciplines, with particular attention to contributions from early-career researchers and PhD graduates. The journal also welcomes contributions from scholars in other disciplines—including legal scholars, economists, sociologists, philosophers, and technology scholars—who investigate issues concerning business organizations, as well as contributions from entrepreneurs, managers, and professionals.

The Journal publishes papers in English and in Italian.

Each issue is introduced by an Editorial by the Editor-in-Chief, a Co-Editor or the Emeritus Editor, while special issues are introduced by Guest Editors.

The journal is divided into the following two sections:
