The First International Conference in Smart Tourism 2017 will be held in Turin, November 23-24, 2017.

The Conference aims at enhancing tourism development through tailored ICT-driven innovation that empowers tourism entrepreneurs and the tourism sector overall.

Smart use of technology, sustainable and shared supply chain, digital layout of business models for tourism destinations are the mainstream of this first International Conference in Turin, that has been designed for becoming the hub that shares know-how, skills and good practices in the context of smart tourism and sustainability.

Several opportunities will be offered to participants by improving and gaining new perspectives in tourism businesses and collaborating in an international network of academics, researchers, policy makers, students, practitioners and professionals.

Therefore, the overall goal of the Conference is to build an interdisciplinary platform for diverse stakeholders around this ever-changing sector by linking academic works and practical projects to support a shared innovation path around this field. Specifically, the Conference has a twofold aim:

First, the conference aims at encouraging practitioners and young researchers by submitting their research projects through the CALL FOR APPS: we emphasize the need to present ongoing projects for creating useful APPs and dashboard that manage tourism data. This will improve tourism destination management by increasing transparency and allowing local government to make better informed decisions.

Second, the Conference seeks for the most leading researches and significant progresses among this context following the thematic session headings. In particular, the CALL FOR PAPER is designed around this challenge research question: Which is the attitude that enhances the tourism development? For sure, by being SMART! The higher level of smartness in the tourism sector should be achieved by the linkage between the following fundamental key features: Sustainability, Measurability, Awareness, Recognition

The call for papers will end on August 25th 2017.
